District reports positive statewide Dashboard gains, highlights English Learner progress

Dr. Reanna Mendoza, Director of Assessment, Accountability and Parent Engagement, presented the district's California School Dashboard and CAASPP results for 2023–2024 at the Jan. 21, 2025 Board meeting. Mendoza reviewed state and local indicators and explained how families and the public can access the data online.
The presentation reported positive growth in areas the district monitors, including English Language Arts, math, chronic absenteeism and conditions and climate. Board materials and the presentation emphasized notable improvement for English Learners; the district reported a 14.3% increase in English Learner progress in the period compared. Mendoza directed the public to the state and district Dashboard sites for full datasets and comparative charts.
