Sunland Park council approves corrected DFA 4th-quarter financial report

The Sunland Park City Council voted July 28 to approve corrections to the DFA fourth-quarter financial report after finance staff identified errors in the packet.
Raquel, the finance director, told the council: “The total revenue that we received for this fiscal year is $18,689,272. The total expenditures for general fund is 14,099,661.” She said those and other corrections — including a wrong report date (the packet listed 03/31/2026; it should read 06/30/2026) — were reflected in the updated report submitted for approval. Mayor opened the floor and a councilor moved to approve item 1 with the corrections; a second was recorded and the motion carried unanimously.
The finance presentation also noted fund-by-fund results and explained that some apparent deficits reflect timing of reimbursements for bond issuances. The clerk recorded the roll-call vote and the mayor announced that item 1 was approved.
