The interim assistant city manager told the board, "we will be adopting our fiscal year '27 budget in October, October 1," and emphasized the timeline for including training items in that process.
Board members asked whether trainings would be in person or online and whether recommended sessions would meet state or county guidance. Staff said most trainings would be in person with the option of web-based participation if scheduling conflicts arise. The interim assistant city manager said staff would notify the board when seminar dates open and seek members' availability.
No formal motion or roll-call vote was taken; instead, the interim assistant city manager said, "all I need is consensus, not even a vote." The meeting record shows staff will present the same proposed training budget during the FY2027 budget adoption and will coordinate scheduling and notices to the board.
