Board discusses livestreaming meetings and tabled bus barn question until fall

The Board discussed an update from Director of Technology Matt Jardin on options for streaming and recording Board meetings. Jardin provided preliminary estimates for installing microphones and receivers and said a full pro audio/streaming system could cost in the range of $10–15K; he suggested a low-cost trial that reuses existing equipment as a first step.
Board members said they want public access options but cautioned against large up-front expenditures. The item will be returned for formal Board action after staff pilots a lower-cost approach.
The Board also discussed long-standing interest in a district bus barn. Superintendent Miguel Barriga and the Board agreed to table the bus barn for six months while other facility priorities proceed. "We should keep it on the agenda so we don't lose sight of it," a trustee said.
The Board asked staff to provide cost estimates and options for a streaming pilot at the next practicable meeting and to return on the bus barn topic in October.
