City staff recommended acceptance of the Safe Routes to School project as substantially complete and authorization of final payment. City engineering staff said only a few punch-list items remain and noted the project includes sidewalks and crossing improvements in multiple neighborhoods and near the middle school.
A council member noted that while the overall project cost approaches $1 million, the local share was "just over $85,000" and the rest came from state and federal grants. The council approved the resolution accepting the project as complete by roll call.
