The Solano County Board of Education opened its Oct. 9 meeting and unanimously adopted the meeting agenda and consent items after roll-call motions by Trustee Cohen Thompson.
Board staff read a letter from the California Department of Education notifying Superintendent Lisette Estrella Henderson that the Solano County Office of Education's adopted budget and the 2024–25 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) have been approved pursuant to the Education Code. The letter, signed by CDE administrators, thanked SCOE staff for efforts to increase student achievement and close opportunity gaps.
President called for and recorded roll-call votes on both the agenda and the consent calendar; both motions were approved without items removed for separate discussion. Trustee Cohen Thompson moved to adopt the agenda; Trustee Sharp seconded. For the consent calendar approval, Trustee Cohen Thompson moved and Trustee Cheek seconded, and the board voted in favor of the consent items.
Board staff said the department will proceed with scheduled actions tied to the approved budget and LCAP and that the county office will engage community partners during the upcoming LCAP template rollout and partner meetings in November. No board member asked to remove consent items for separate consideration at this meeting.
