Pratt County adopts countywide Neighborhood Revitalization Plan and interlocal agreement

The Pratt County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 06082026 on June 8, 2026, designating Pratt County as a Neighborhood Revitalization Area and approving an interlocal agreement to carry out the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.

At the start of the hearing the Chair opened the public hearing "Public hearing open for the neighborhood revitalization plan." A clerk read the resolution into the record, explaining the legal basis under state statute and that the plan and interlocal agreement had been published and made available to the public. The clerk said the plan would designate the entirety of Pratt County as a neighborhood revitalization area and that copies are available in the county appraiser's office.

A county commissioner moved to adopt the resolution and another commissioner seconded the motion. The Chair called for the vote and declared: "Motion carried." The clerk told the public that other taxing entities would hold hearings, that the package would be sent to the attorney general for approval, and that, once recorded with the register of deeds and secretary of state, the program would become effective (an initial target of July 1 was noted but the clerk said the date will likely slip).

Why it matters: the resolution sets the countywide framework for local tax-increment or rebate-style incentives to encourage rehabilitation, conservation, or redevelopment. The board approved the measure during a formal roll call and authorized the chairman to execute the interlocal agreement on behalf of Pratt County; implementation depends on approvals by other taxing entities and the attorney general's review.

Next steps: the clerk said interested residents may view plan documents at the county appraiser's office and the county will announce when the program is available following approvals.
