Magistrate gives 30 days for business tax / certificate of use compliance in one case

At the hearing for property 3135 SW 14th Street, member Michael Zogby told the court he had paid for the license but had not yet received the affidavit of compliance (AFC) needed to finalize his business tax receipt. The magistrate said a 30-day order should be sufficient and directed Zogby to follow up with his inspector; "30 days so ordered," the magistrate said.
City staff confirmed that once the permit is finalized an affidavit of compliance can be issued and recommended the shorter compliance window for business licensing matters. The magistrate reiterated that finalizing the AFC prevents potential liens that would otherwise begin to accrue from the original compliance date.
