The superintendent’s report at the Dec. 18 meeting opened with student-of-the-month recognitions for multiple programs. Pamela Brinkerhoff introduced Special Education Student of the Month Isaac Garay and described classroom progress and communication-device successes; teacher Autumn Clark outlined Isaac’s growth in participation, reading, math and personal-care skills.
Later the board recognized the JCCS December student of the month, Khalif, with staff praising his academic progress and family support. Staff invited the student’s family for a photograph and acknowledged the contributions of site staff.
In the budget portion of the report staff noted the 2024–25 first interim financial report was in the meeting packet for information and identified Associate Superintendent Michelle Henson and Becky Lentz, director of internal business services, as contacts for budget questions. Trustee Sharp thanked budget staff for keeping budgets balanced and remarked that SCOE was "way far ahead of other people, and it's nice to be able to go and brag about our financial situation."
