The committee reviewed a draft vision statement describing an ‘‘vibrant, sustainable and resilient community’’ and five priorities, and after discussion moved and voted to accept the vision and priorities as a working document to be refined into actionable goals.
Members emphasized the difference between an aspirational vision and measurable goals and agreed that the web posting should include the vision only (goals to be removed from the public page until they are refined). A presenter said the goals would be extracted into a spreadsheet with assigned priorities and difficulty levels so the committee can convert them into action items over time.
