Staff outlines citywide parks and landscape beautification plan; scope to be refined before June 23 workshop

Commissioners asked how municipal services will select parks and medians for the proposed citywide beautification program included in the CIP package. Municipal services management analyst Bryce Wilson said the plan is preliminary and intends to develop a scope and costs for maintenance and beautification of public spaces, medians and hillsides.
"Right now, it's a preliminary plan... it's for the maintenance, the beautification of our landscape... we're hoping to... get the full scope and that cost down by the 23rd," Wilson said. Staff said the beautification initiative responds to a City Council priority and that municipal services is engaging landscape architects to create a comprehensive plan prior to council consideration. Commissioners asked for status reporting on the long‑running street name sign replacement work; staff said that replacement is included in the CIP as approved by council in June 2025 and staff will provide a status update.
