Murrieta staff: Equestrian Center Phase 1 maintenance estimated at about $750,000

Commissioners asked for details about the proposed Phase 1 maintenance for the Equestrian Center during the CIP presentation. Crystal Aurora, a management analyst, said the city council has formed a subcommittee to develop a plan and that Phase 1 aims to stop further dilapidation and address immediate structural concerns for the adobe buildings and roofs.
"So the phase 1 is I don't have the exact number. It's around 750,000 is the the projected," Aurora said. She added that staff is still evaluating the full cost and would provide firmer estimates at the June 23 council workshop and the July 7 adoption hearing. Aurora said the Phase 1 work is intended as an assessment and stabilization step rather than a full renovation list and that a fuller scope and cost breakdown will follow the subcommittee’s work.
Commissioners offered to connect staff with local stakeholders familiar with the site to help identify utilities and legacy construction issues; staff welcomed that assistance and said the center remains open to public use in the meantime.
