Borough Administrator Michael Crowley told the council the borough has several capital projects and grant‑funded initiatives moving toward procurement and construction.
Crowley said Passaic County awarded a $10,000 America250 grant to support Pompton Day, and the borough expects August bid openings for Hirschfield Park Phase 3 (walking path resurfacing) and a federally funded miscellaneous ADA curb ramp upgrades project financed by a $165,000 Community Development Block Grant. He said staff is preparing bid specifications for Lakeside Avenue Phase 1 resurfacing (Jefferson Ave to Chailing Court) and expects to go to bid in September.
Crowley also reported a planned exterior‑upgrades project for the Pompton Lakes Public Library funded by about $750,000 in federal and county grants, with bidding expected over the winter for spring construction. He thanked DPW and other partners for progress and asked the council to note the ongoing shared‑services solid‑waste agreement with Oakland.
