Box Elder County honors Deputy Mike Allred and K9 Azula for life‑saving actions

Commissioner Perry recognized Deputy Mike Allred and his dog Azula as Box Elder County employees of the month, citing a recent incident in which the deputy and his K9 were credited with saving lives. "Because of his actions, we clearly believe that he saved lives of other law enforcement officers and other people because of the actions that he took that night, along with his his dog, Azula," Perry said.
Perry also described community engagement by Allred, noting he visited students at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning and received thank‑you and get‑well cards. The commission expressed appreciation and noted the Utah Department of Public Safety will recognize Deputy Allred on Oct. 30.
