Lancaster County council honors Indian Land High School Palmetto Pride club for cleanups and tree giveaways

Members of Indian Land High School's Palmetto Pride Club presented the council with a summary of this school year's projects and community work and received an award of excellence from the Lancaster County Council.
Presenter Isabella Cordiller (ILHS Palmetto Pride president) highlighted volunteer cleanups and collaborations with Keep Lancaster Beautiful. Club speakers reported they have mobilized more than 77 volunteers, raised about $1,000 through fundraising, collected more than 125 pounds of trash over several events, and gave away more than 50 trees to community members. Grace Bruschi (youth ambassador) said the club aims to "bring people together and show young people that their actions matter." The council member presenting the award praised the students' work and called their accomplishments "outstanding."
Mandy Catell of Keep Lancaster Beautiful joined the students and commended the volunteers for providing supplies, logistical support and publicity that helped sustain the cleanups.
The council recorded the recognition on the public docket and thanked the club for its civic service.
