Fire department reports 95% plan review and August bidding schedule for new station

The fire department reported progress on the new fire-station project and recent training and communications reviews.
"We did our 95% page turn review on the plans for the new fire station," said the fire department representative (Speaker 4), and staff noted that a few items missed in earlier drafts were added. The department reviewed landscaping changes intended to reduce budget and said it remained on schedule to bid the station: a pre-bid was cited for Aug. 20 with bid opening tentatively set for Sept. 3.
Officials also described recent training, a communications-device review and refresher training on systems used to alert firefighters. The department reported lower-than-normal call volume over the prior two weeks, which allowed focus on training and plan work.
