Public works: Kinetic fiber rollout, 134th drainage work and wastewater equipment updates

Public works staff (Speaker 2) updated the council on multiple infrastructure projects: a Kinetic fiber project is replacing Windstream copper with fiber, adding service where none existed, and construction is underway in Danvers, Eastbourne, Castlewood and later Evendale.
The staff member also said the drainage improvement project on 134th Street (near Capitol Tower and Cam Charter) will include cleaning the drainage area, regrading right-of-way along Highway 6 and clearing a culvert beneath the highway and railroad. At the wastewater treatment plant, crews have been working on the UV system and preparing to install the RRP at 140th in Haywood.
Officials characterized the Kinetic work as an exchange of copper to fiber in existing service areas and new installation where service did not previously exist. Public-works staff said maintenance work at the landfill and ditch mowing remain active program priorities.
