"We put in the grant application for the apron reconstruction to FAA ... which is about $425,000 or so," staff member Dave said, explaining FAA could not supply additional discretionary funds for the full bid amount. He added that bids for the full scope were upwards of $800,000, so staff and the low bidder (Sargent) are developing a scaled‑down project the town can complete within the AIG allocation.
Members discussed timing and the risk that roughly $90,000 of the AIG funding expires in fiscal 2026 if not used; staff suggested pairing down the apron project now and reserving other AIP funds next year for the taxi‑lane priority. Dave said he will prepare sketches of reduced options and bring them to the commission for review or circulate by email for early input.
