The Public Schools of Robeson County Board of Education approved a consulting agreement with the school board association and set an application deadline of Sept. 30 for its superintendent search.
Sam Thorpe, the NCSBA representative leading the search presentation, told the board he had "allowed for approximately 5 weeks to advertise the vacancy," and said he would deliver application packets the day after the deadline. After brief discussion about school start schedules and outreach, the board settled on an end-of-September deadline.
A board member moved to approve the consulting agreement and the motion was seconded; the clerk recorded the vote as 9–0 in favor. Thorpe said his executive director will sign and return a fully executed agreement and that he will circulate finalized search documents and the application link to the board once posted.
