The governing board approved the Board Governance Handbook after a second‑reading discussion in which staff described the handbook as a living document to be posted on the district website for public access and annual review.
Dr. Manoz Dahl (introducing) thanked board members for input and said the handbook formalizes norms, roles and protocols, and would be reviewed at least once a year. Greg (innovation/strategy staff) noted the handbook provides a link the district can give when other organizations request a summary of board norms.
Board members asked whether minor typographical edits would require returning the document to the board; staff said that routine, non‑substantive edits would not require reapproval, while substantive changes would return for board action. A motion to approve the handbook was made and seconded; the motion carried 5–0.
The handbook will be posted on the district’s board of education web page and staff invited board members to provide any final edits for incorporation.
