Councilmember Alisa Bowers presented a proclamation recognizing April 22 as Administrative Professionals Day and read historical context and national workforce figures. The mayor and city staff promoted the North Texas Community Cleanup (Greatest American Cleanup) scheduled for May 16 and invited volunteers; Michelle Stoutwright, president of Keep Rowlett Beautiful, said the group seeks about 150 volunteers and listed partner organizations. Mayor Pro Tem Michael Shoop read a proclamation designating April as National Safe Digging Month and asked residents to call 811 before starting digging projects; an ATMOS representative echoed the safety message.
Staff and council also highlighted upcoming events including Earth Day activities on April 25, the Live on Main spring concert series, library tabletop games on April 25 and a SHINE program for neurodiversity on May 16.
