Board to review 2026–27 budget and levy; meeting schedule adjusted, JoEl Bridge grant denied

Jacob Rayl told the Bond County Board he will review the estimated 2026–2027 budget and levy, flagging the item for further board consideration. Chairman Chris Timmermann said that starting in May the board will hold meetings at 4:00 p.m. from May through August.
Timmermann also reported that a grant intended to fund the JoEl Bridge project was denied amid many applicants, but he said funding had already been secured prior to applying for that grant. Bernard Myers presented the opportunity for board members to attend the NACO Fall Meeting in New Orleans, July 17–20, 2026. Wes Pourchot inquired about Department Heads' salaries; Jacob Rayl said the matter would be discussed at the next board meeting.
