The Murrieta City Council on June 2 presented a certificate of recognition to Christopher Lee, a graduating senior at Vista Murrieta High School and a recipient of the 2026 Edison Scholars Program scholarship. Andrea Morris of Southern California Edison told the council the Edison Scholars Program awards $50,000 scholarships to 30 outstanding high‑school seniors across Edison’s service territory and described the program’s goal of opening doors to STEM education and careers.
"My name is Andrea Morris. I'm Southern California Edison's government relations manager to the city of Murrieta," Morris said as she introduced the scholar and the program. Mayor Pro Tem Holliday and council members joined Morris onstage to present the city certificate and take photos with the student and his family. Council members congratulated Lee and encouraged him to 'bring a little Murrieta to Berkeley' as he prepares to attend UC Berkeley.
