According to the mayor’s slides, the city’s sales-tax share for the reporting period was $60,809 while the MDD’s ETJ‑based receipts were reported at roughly $47,750 in month one.
The mayor said the MDD split and staffing arrangements mean the city’s and MDD’s portions were being tracked, and that part of a city staffer’s salary is temporarily charged to the MDD as the district begins operations. "If it continues this way for 11 more months, we could be looking at a $500,000," the mayor said, highlighting the potential, while cautioning that sales-tax receipts are not fully predictable.
Council discussed the MDD board composition and next steps for budgeting; staff said the board currently includes several appointed members and one open seat and that more formal governance and budget decisions will follow as revenue patterns stabilize. The mayor thanked voters for approving the change that enabled the MDD and said staff will bring back regular updates.
