County likely won't run mosquito-spraying program this season; residents to be referred to private applicators

The weed board and commissioners said private applicators remain available for residents who want spraying.
Commissioners asked staff to prepare a list of private applicators the county can refer to and to notify the public early so residents have time to arrange private treatments if needed. One commissioner said not spraying is preferable given current staffing, and the county should communicate options "so everybody knows ahead of time that if we become into a mosquito issue that they'll be able to find other means."
