Developers seek smaller lot minimum; Denton holds public hearing

A public hearing on proposed amendments to the Village of Denton’s 2007 zoning ordinance considered reducing the minimum lot size for single-family detached homes from 12,000 square feet to 11,000 square feet.
Developers Tim Aschoff and William Jefferies told trustees the reduction would help fit additional lots into the property under consideration. Mike Bacon, the developers’ attorney, outlined the available TIF financing structure as part of the project discussion. Trustees asked detailed questions about how the change would affect lot sizes for single-family homes, townhouses, duplexes and attached single-family housing. The hearing was opened at 6:42 p.m. and closed at 7:05 p.m.; the record shows no final zoning vote at this meeting.
