Staff urges budgeting for bridge repairs after Origin Designs inspection recommendations

City staff presented the Origin Designs bridge-inspection report and recommended the council track maintenance items in future capital budgets.
City Administrator Jeremiah summarized the Origin Designs work, stating, "Origin Designs, comes in and does our bridge inspections every year." Street superintendent Shane Roehl said some structures have projected needs within five to six years and said Division Street has been on the city's radar for about 3.5 years. He described the Division Street job as a major project that likely will require water and sewer work under the bridge and a significant budget allocation.
Council members discussed pursuing state help where possible and requested staff keep the council apprised of funding opportunities, email updates and any changes that could move a project sooner in the budget cycle. Staff said they will report substantive updates as they become available.
