Design timetable set for Nashua library renovation; staff flag additional appropriations ahead

Project leaders presented a phased schedule for the Nashua library renovation and told the joint committee when key decisions and funding requests will come back to the board.
Kayla Gallo of Left Field described schematic design as a roughly 12‑week phase from July 2026 to late September 2026, followed by a design‑development phase in October through January 2027 and then construction documents and bidding. Gallo said the projected construction start is ‘‘fall of 2027’’ if subsequent appropriations and permitting align. Tim Cummings cautioned the dates were a "snapshot" and could shift, adding that the city will seek additional appropriations during late summer/early fall to carry the design through later phases.
Committee members were told they will see design guidance and periodic "page turn" reviews at each phase and that staff plans to create a project webpage and hold public forums at critical stages to maintain transparency.
