Council obligates $139,500 in federal funds for citywide intersection improvements design

Zender described the project scope as work at seven intersections (six left-turn signal intersections and one right-turn intersection), converting various left-turn treatments to a flashing yellow arrow where appropriate to improve traffic flow. He told council the $139,500 covers the preliminary engineering phase and that subsequent phases (right-of-way, construction) would return for separate authorization.
On motion by Council member Norton and second by Council President Stevens, the council authorized the mayor to sign the local agency federal aid prospectus and obligate the federal preliminary engineering funds.
