Marysville awards $219,329 to consultant team for Parks, Recreation and Open Space plan

Director Mizell introduced Conservation Techniques and principal Steve Du, who described the consultant team's focus on comprehensive parks, recreation and open space planning, community engagement and capital project prioritization. The consultant team includes MXM Landscape Architecture and Jefferson & Associates (communications).
"Our team's really excited to... work with Marysville on a new parks, recreation, open space plan," Steve Du said, describing a process that begins with site assessments and includes public outreach, a survey and open houses. The consultant outlined a schedule aimed at returning a draft PROS plan for council adoption by March 2027 and noted 30% design work for three parks (Strawberry Fields, Eby Waterfront Park and Twin Lakes) would be part of the scope.
Council member Norton moved and Council member Mueller seconded authorization for the mayor to sign and execute an agreement with Conservation Techniques for $199,390 and approve a management reserve of $19,939 for a total allocation not to exceed $219,329; the motion passed.
