Marysville honors Grove Church volunteers for citywide service campaign

Mayor Nehring presented an outstanding volunteer award to representatives of The Grove Church for the congregation’s I Heart volunteer campaign.
"Year after year, The Grove Church has demonstrated extraordinary commitment in serving our community through the annual I Heart campaign," Mayor Nehring said, thanking volunteer coordinator Sam Giffin and the group for work including pressure washing, tree trimming, repainting courts and applying protective stain to 500 feet of fencing at Twin Lakes Park. The mayor said the effort involved 72 volunteers and about 572 hours of service in a single week.
The council recognized the volunteers’ work on city projects including Jennings Park, the skate park, North Point Trail and Dulles Shell Park. Mayor Nehring asked that the council’s thanks be passed on to the Grove Church leadership and every volunteer involved.
