Service Director Matt Hiscock explained Ordinance No. 26-061 would make a supplemental appropriation of $45,435.65 in the 110 General Fund to pay Quality Control Inspection, Inc. for inspection of Frontier Communications' work. He said Frontier had deposited funds with the city to cover inspection costs so taxpayer dollars would not be used and that third-party inspectors act as "boots on the ground" to identify problems and follow up for remediation.
Council agreed to suspend and call the ordinance that evening and staff said inspectors will document deficiencies and work with Frontier to remedy issues when found. No vote tally was recorded in the Committee minutes for final adoption.
