Director Matt Hiscock described Ordinance No. 26-058 as the next phase of the city's lead service verification program, explaining staff has budget authority of $1.2 million for exploratory work to determine which service lines contain lead in both residential and commercial areas. He said the work is mandated by the city and EPA and that preparations are underway to advertise and receive bids.
Council agreed the ordinance could proceed with two readings and staff will return with procurement materials and the recommended award once bids are received.
