Council to seek bids for Brickyard loop trail as passive-park work advances

Service Director Matt Hiscock told Council the Brickyard loop trail is part of the planned Passive Park Trail system and that the city has received roughly $800,000 (about 80% of a pledged donation) toward a donation of just over $1 million. He also said the larger park system previously received a $2.5 million one-time strategic capital award from the State, and those funds can be used to complete the loop project.
Hiscock said staff will move forward with design and bidding if Council authorizes the work; he recommended at least two readings before award and noted the Seville access road would provide close access to the loop. The ordinance was introduced and assigned a number for return consideration.
