Dr. Wade told trustees that the district's overall "approaches" level dipped from 76% to 73% and that math approaches dropped 6% year over year while reading fell 1%. She said science remained above the state average at 77% and social studies stayed at 79%. The superintendent and staff emphasized that some accountability ratings were delayed statewide because of pending litigation, which affected this year's release schedule.
On college, career and military readiness (CCMR), Dr. Wade reported an increase to about 61.6%, driven in part by more industry‑based certifications in CTE programs. She also noted that special education determination required action: the district is at the "needs assistance" level for special education and has submitted the required plan and early interventions. Other data points presented included a slight improvement in the percentage of students maintaining a C or higher in public colleges (75% reported), a small decrease in graduation rate to 90.3% and an increase in dropout rate to 2.8%.
Board members asked clarifying questions about how CCMR indicators are calculated and how changes in state reporting affect local measures. Dr. Wade said the CCMR indicator has changed over time and that the district is adjusting programs and IBC alignment to meet new expectations.
What happens next: The annual report will be posted on the district website and paper copies will be available at central office and campuses; administration said it will continue to implement strategies to address declines and report progress to the board.
