Students and staff honored: students of the month, teacher, volleyball and band achievements

At the Dec. 2 meeting the board recognized Students of the Month Tyler Moots and Isabella Valdez, named Miss Middleton teacher of the month, and honored the girls volleyball team (regional finalists) and the marching band (state finalist placement).
Principal Colin Holden Barrett introduced the high school's two Students of the Month and described the selection process used by staff. "Our 1st student of the month is Tyler Moots," Barrett said, and he also introduced Isabella Valdez as the second student of the month, citing leadership and work ethic as reasons for both selections.
Administrators also named Miss Middleton teacher of the month and praised her advocacy and extra work for students. The board recognized the girls volleyball team for reaching the regional finals (top 8 in the state) and praised the coaching staff for navigating program transitions. Band directors and student leaders recapped the season for the show 'Flow' — 44 performances with 36 wins and multiple district/state recognitions — and trustees congratulated students on competitive achievements.
Trustees and administrators encouraged the community to attend upcoming showcases and performances and said they will formally recognize state‑advancing FFA teams at the January meeting.
