Enrollment rises to 4,072; facility task force prioritizes new intermediate campus and safety work

Administration reported enrollment figures from the last Friday in November: total enrollment stands at 4,072 and average daily attendance is running above last year. The superintendent said the upward enrollment trend is not the pattern of recent years and noted that administrators will continue monitoring attendance and enrollment graphs.
The Facility Task Force, which met for a third time in November with about 20 attendees, is developing priority projects from the district master facility plan. Top priorities include a new intermediate campus, districtwide safety and security improvements, technology upgrades and maintenance work. The task force will meet Dec. 12 at the middle school cafeteria and may consider a recommendation to the board in January.
The finance committee also met with Samco in November to review a potential refunding opportunity for spring; administration said parameters will be presented at the January regular meeting.
