The council convened a special session at 5:00 p.m. and immediately recessed into an executive session under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 192.660(2)(f) to consider records exempt by law from public inspection and ORS 192.660(2)(h) to consult with legal counsel about current or likely litigation.
"We are going to have an executive session that's scheduled to take place under the following provisions, ORS 192.660(2)(f) to consider information or records that are exempt by law from public inspection, ORS 192.660(2)(h) to consult with legal counsel concerning the legal rights and duties of the public body with regard to current litigation or litigation likely to be filed," the Chair (S1) said.
The chair instructed nonessential audience members to leave the Zoom room and told news media attendees not to report on matters discussed in the executive session. The meeting returned from executive session at 6:28 p.m., after which the chair asked whether there were additional topics before adjourning.
