County health official: Rx Kids expanded across the Upper Peninsula with cash supports for new parents

The presenter described the cash payments as short-term supports to help families cover expenses around childbirth and early infancy and said the program is planned for another three years.
Commissioners and staff discussed eligibility and local economic impact; the presenter said the program contributes to local economies when families spend benefits in area grocers and service providers.
