City staff announced the Carson Ambassador program as a volunteer workforce intended to support wayfinding, hydration stations, outreach and on-site operations across Carson X activations.
"The thought is from the moment someone gets to the city of Carson, there will be someone at every facility, at every stop," Deputy City Manager Armina Chaparian said, describing volunteer duties and the program’s role in the visitor experience. Staff said an online registration link is live for both LA28 volunteers and the city's ambassador sign-up and that the city will pursue training and certification pathways with CSUDH and other local colleges.
Attendees who represent college programs and workforce agencies asked how to integrate volunteer opportunities into credit or noncredit certification programs. Staff said they are developing partner relationships and discussed HR being the hub for training ambassadors and coordinating clearances.
