Deputy City Manager Armina Chaparian warned business owners that many operational details remain tentative, but emphasized that the games are treated as a federal event and that perimeter fencing and security checkpoints will be used at venue access points.
"There will be perimeter fencing being put up because the Olympics are considered a federal event. The Secret Service is actually the entity that's very heavily involved," Chaparian said when describing security and access planning. Staff added that regional agencies (Metro, LADOT, Caltrans) and outside transportation vendors are coordinating routes, shuttle operations and consultant-supported plans, and that some school schedules and lane closures are under discussion.
Staff said they will share maps and closure plans when finalized and will work directly with businesses that are adjacent to venues to explore alternative operations or temporary relocation when closures affect ingress and egress.
