Superintendent outlines CTE planning, survey work to support bond projects

The superintendent delivered a capital-improvement update, saying district staff, CTE teachers and architects spent three hours on June 11 reviewing career-technical education (CTE) needs and that the meeting yielded substantial design work still in progress. "We did a meeting with our CTE teachers and athletic director and French, which represented the architects and the engineers," the superintendent said, summarizing the June 11 session.
She said the district is not yet ready to present cash-flow details and timelines because the work produced many options; the board will hold biweekly follow-up meetings beginning just after July 4. She also authorized targeted survey work to support early design and permitting, confirming that soil sampling, core drilling and GIS work will be paid with bond funds and is expected to be completed in August. "I did approve some survey work to be done that we'll use bond funds for. It'll be completed in August," she said.
The superintendent said the CTE work represents the largest element of the next bond and that the district plans to use staff and community input in upcoming planning sessions. Board members were invited to a community "Portrait of a Graduate" workshop in mid-August to review related goals and provide input, and the district will return to the board with more detailed cash-flow and schedule information as designs firm up.
