Commission approves wellness policy; long‑time maintenance specialist to retire and county to advertise replacement

Human Resources Director Lisa Siegel presented a Wellness Pilot personnel policy for employees covered under Traverse County BCBS and the board approved the policy unanimously (motion by Monson, second by T. Johnson). Siegel also announced that Building Maintenance Specialist Mike Neumann will retire on Jan. 27, 2017 after 30 years of service; the board accepted his retirement and authorized advertising for his replacement. Siegel said the personnel committee will revise the job description and return the final draft to the board for approval.
The 21st Century Program coordinator, Kayla Maas, requested permission to advertise and fill a Program and Community Coordinator position funded fully by the grant; the board approved the hire unanimously. Siegel additionally sought board approval to have CDS update the county flex document for a one-time fee of $700; the board approved the update (motion by Monson, second by T. Johnson).
