The Traverse County Commission on June 2 approved the Highway Department’s purchase of a Western Star Tandem Truck Chassis for $162,155.62 from TransWest Boyer Trucks after County Engineer Chad Gillespie requested board approval. The motion to purchase passed unanimously (mover: Dwight Nelson; second: Mark Gail).
The board also unanimously approved a final payment of $10,756.56 to Joe Riley Construction, Inc., for work on SAP 078-600-002 and the Traverse County PWA project (motion by Chad Metz; second by Kayla Schmidt). Gillespie briefed commissioners on the status of the CSAH 9 project and other ongoing roadwork, but no additional funding decisions were taken at the meeting.
