Councilwoman Jacklyn Bartkowski told council she attended a meeting with representatives from Berea Water about ongoing water-quality concerns on Lindbergh Boulevard. Bartkowski said Berea Water is working on a $6 million-plus water-main replacement project in the area and that company representatives stressed the importance of residents reporting discoloration, odor or sediment so the utility can document and respond. "The water is safe; however, people are still experiencing yellow tinged water or odor to the water," Bartkowski said.
Bartkowski encouraged residents to report problems directly to the Berea Water Plant, which the company documents and investigates. She said Berea representatives told the meeting the distributed water meets EPA safety standards and that documented complaints will prompt field checks. Council discussed streaming meetings and other outreach tools to inform residents of reporting procedures; no formal directive was recorded.
