Council authorizes $5,662.50 quote to fix standing water near downtown sewer project

City Engineer Jared reported settlement and ponding east of 351 3rd Street South after a sanitary-sewer replacement and presented a quote from Stone's Edge for $5,662.50 to install drain tile and connect it to the project's drain tile.
"We received 1 from Stone's Edge in the amount of $5,662.50," Jared said; council discussed whether this was a durable fix and staff confirmed the drain tile installation is the most economical long-term solution short of installing storm sewer. A motion to authorize the Stone's Edge quote and for staff to issue the notice to proceed passed 4-0.
Staff will issue the letter to the contractor and schedule the work to alleviate standing water in the affected yard area.
