Agency rolls out pre-retiree folders and in-person DRS support this summer

Laura Ryan walked the board through new pre-retiree folders and communications intended to help school employees preparing for retirement. The folders include a retirement timeline and links to online resources; her office also plans monthly webinars and an enrollment page for new retirees.
Ryan highlighted a partnership with the Department of Retirement Systems, noting a dedicated DRS podcast episode for school employees and announcing that DRS will have a staff member on-site in the Health Care Authority lobby from July 6 through Aug. 14 to help with pension questions, service-credit purchases and other walk-in assistance. "They will be here during regular business hours on a walk in 1st come 1st serve basis," Ryan said, adding the in-person presence complements HCA’s customer-service appointments and is meant to be a one-stop resource for new retirees.
