Commissioner Leigh Anne Young told the board she had spoken with Chelsea Tharp, manager of the Sylva Farmers Market, and suggested Webster could host a small farmers market at the ball field beginning in the spring, coordinated with the towns May Day event. Mayor Rodes asked Town Attorney Will Morgan whether a market would be permissible; Morgan indicated it appeared to be allowable but noted the ballfield is run by Jackson County Parks and Recreation and a market would have to be approved by that agency. Commissioner Young said she would check on the restrictions and follow up with the board.
