Webster Historical Society to host 'Summerween' on July 19 with free Ghostbusters screening

Commissioner Brandon Core, identified in the minutes as president of the Webster Historical Society, announced the society’s Summerween event will be held July 19, starting at 7:00 p.m., with an outdoor showing of the original 1984 Ghostbusters at dusk (around 8:00 p.m.). He described the evening as an event with games, activities and face painting, and said the event is free and open to the public; “Costumes are encouraged.”
The town agreed to support the event by loaning canopy tents, Halloween decorations and a first-aid kit. Commissioners also agreed to discuss any potential funding needs for the event at the August meeting. Commissioner Davis offered to move and store the sandwich-board sign to advertise the event while Commissioner Core is out of town.
