Town attorney to step down; commissioners form search committee

Town Attorney Will Morgan informed the Webster Board of Commissioners that, given his current client base and the potential for conflicts of interest, he believed he should no longer serve as the towns attorney. "He felt that with his current client base that he should no longer be the Attorney for Webster," Morgan told the board; he said he would continue to work for the town through the end of the year.
Mayor Tracy Rodes proposed creating a subcommittee to vet potential new attorneys. Commissioners Allen Davis, Leigh Anne Young and Brandon Core volunteered to serve on the committee; Commissioner Leigh Anne Young moved to approve the attorney search committee, Commissioner Allen Davis seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The board did not set a firm timetable for the search during the meeting.
